A heat resistant variety producing beautiful blonde large crispy and curly salad leaves. This is a lettuce all seasons.
Culinary Tip:
Batavia is eaten in salads but also braised or stewed.
Culture Tip:
1. Sowing: Sow July to August in rows 30 cm apart.
2. Thinning: At 3-4 leaf stage, pull out the smaller seedlings and keep only the strongest lettuce spacing 30 cm apart.
3. Harvest: To avoid bolting and extend the harvest period, water your greens regularly. Lettuce prefers a sunny exposure. Harvest end of Oct to Dec.
Companion Plants:
When Lettuce is sawn in the proximity of radishes, they are less likely bolt early.
