Description:
This variety of yellow melons has smooth skin, thick flesh and is very fragrant.
Culinary Tip: The melon can be eaten as an appetizer with ham and port wine or as a fruit for dessert.
Planting tips:
1. Sowing: Sow seeds from March to May in a sunny position, 5-6 seeds in small shallow holes spaced 1 mx 60 cm.
2. Thinning: Thin seedlings 2 weeks after planting. keep in each hole only the strongest plant and remove the rest.
3. For large fruits, cut the stem two leaves above the third or fourth melon formed.
4. Harvest: Cut and harvest from August to September. For melons in July, sow in heated shelter in Feb- March.
Companion plants:
Melon could be planted next to leek, because the latter protects it from parasites like Fusarium fungus.
